Dr. Mausumi Syamal graduated with Distinction from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. She then went on to earn her Masters in Engineering at the University of Michigan and worked as a Global Project Engineer for General Motors Corporation.
Following this, she spent a few months working and auditioning as a professional actress and singer in New York before earning her medical doctorate at Wayne State University’s School of Medicine in Detroit. In the midst of medical school, she spent a summer with Stanford University’s Department of Bioengineering designing micro fluidic biochips. She remained in Detroit for the completion of her residency in Otolaryngology with Henry Ford Health Systems. She then completed a Fellowship in Laryngology and Voice Disorders at the esteemed Cleveland Clinic Head & Neck Institute. Her interests within the field of Otolaryngology include laryngology, voice disorders, airway and professional voice surgery.
