Daniel Rontal, M.D.

Daniel Rontal was born and raised in Detroit. He graduated from Andover High School in Bloomfield Hills in 1991. Afterwards, he attended the University of Michigan where he completed a course of study in Cellular and Molecular Biology. During his college career, Dr. Rontal worked in several laboratories and published work on brain anatomy while working at the University of Koln in Cologne, Germany.


Dr. Rontal entered the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1995. During his time at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Rontal was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society during his junior year and graduated at the top of his class. He spent an extra year at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia studying the development and organization of connections between the ear and the brain during the embryonic period.

Dr. Rontal returned to the University of Michigan in 2000 and completed his residency in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) in 2005. He was elected the Assistant Chief Resident in 2004. During residency Dr. Rontal’s academic interests included disease of the sinuses and tissue engineering for craniofacial reconstruction.

After graduation, Dr. Rontal joined the Rontal Clinic. He is currently a staff surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and at the Detroit Medical Center.
